BIS BISS CH Korcula's Midnight Star Bret D

Our first Dalmatian came into our lives when I was seventeen years old. I had seen a female at a training class where I had gone with my sister-in-law, Cheryl, and her new Lhasa Apso. I had never seen a Dalmatian and fell instantly in love with those beloved spots!

I talked to the couple at that class who had the Dalmatian and they gave me the name of her breeder, Herb & Jackie Cromwell. Just before my 18th birthday I got a show quality Dalmatian, registered as Oliver's Aprodite and lovingly known as "Daffy". She did not finish her championship but she got her CD (Companion Dog) title and was my best friend for 9 years. She suffered from severe allergies and was sick most of her life. Little did I know that falling in love with that first one would embark me on a lifetime love affair with this beloved breed our DALMATIANS!

I had a number of champions that I finished myself with the help and mentoring of Sylvia Howison, of Stablemate Dalmatians. She gave me the courage to persist at showing and to become a good handler, learn the standard, and strive for the TOP!

In 1985, I spoke with Dr. Charles Garvin of Korcula Kennels and told him I wanted a Ch Korcula Midnight Serenade puppy. He stated, I have just the puppy for you. With a little work and polish he will finish easily and be great fun! That dog turned out to be
BIS BISS CH KORCULA MIDNIGHT STAR BRET D.
What a ride it was!

Dalmatians, like many other breeds, need lots of exercise. Puppy and obedience training are a must at an early age to help the owner bond with their puppy so that their bond becomes strong and the Dal becomes a good citizen.
